Grŵp Cynefin promoting friendship and conversation in Denbigh

Encouraging conversation, connection and friendship between people of all ages. That’s the aim of a  special scheme in Denbigh, ‘Denbigh Friendly Benches’.

North Wales Housing Association Grŵp Cynefin and Denbighshire Leisure Active Communities are working together on this  very special project.

The partnership involves working with local artists and communities to create a series of colourful and striking benches that people will instantly recognise as somewhere to connect with each other, somewhere people can go for a chat – a designated space to encourage conversation and connection between people. Ideally, that  would involve conversations between people of all ages – encouraging friendships across the generations and reducing loneliness

The plan to transform Denbigh’s benches is now into its second year, with five benches having or in the process of being transformed as part of the project, with a different local artist working with different local groups or schools and a different theme for each bench.

The project is funded by Grŵp Cynefin, Denbighshire Leisure Active Communities and grants were received from DVSC and Denbigh Town Council.
