Grŵp Cynefin’s response to the threat of civil unrest

The tragic deaths of three girls in England saw a community come together in grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families.

In the past week, racist extremists whose sole aim is to create fear and chaos, have rioted across the UK. Innocent people have been attacked, places of worship have been threatened, and hotels housing asylum seekers targeted. Libraries, community hubs and organisations that are the very fabric of our communities have been affected.

The actions are not protests, they are simple acts of lawlessness perpetrated by people with no interest in the tragedy only in looting and causing chaos.

We would like to reassure our communities that Grŵp Cynefin will take every action possible to ensure our tenants can continue to feel safe and enjoy their homes in these fractious times. We will, in partnership with law enforcement and government agencies, ensure any perpetrators of these riots are held not only to the full account of the law, but where applicable, take action regarding a breach of their occupancy contract.
